General Objectives
This is a 1st cycle course of 6 semesters (3 years) and 180 ECTS, which aims to provide the scientific, technical, technological and artistic training of graduates in the Performing Arts, with a focus on the preparation of the actor/performer, duly prepared in the knowledge of subjects related to culture and functioning institutionally in articulation with areas of knowledge taught by the Departments of Arts and Crafts, Humanities, Education and Psychology and Sport.
Within the scope of university education, the Theatre and Performing Arts course has the following specific objectives and corresponding career prospects:
- To train actors/performers from a multi, inter and transdisciplinary artistic perspective.
- To train researchers and artistic animateurs for the education system.
- To train agents of artistic practices for the audiovisual field, for the cultural tourism market and for the social sectors, namely to intervene in hospitals, old people’s homes, games libraries, theatre libraries, museums, libraries, bookshops, leisure spaces, prisons, etc.
- To foster self-employment (learning to undertake) in order to meet new social needs.
- To promote the training of arts groups in the community.
- To train professionals to be integrated in regional and national artistic production centres.
