General Objectives
The degree in Sustainable Design aims to provide graduates with the knowledge and operational domain, within the scope of Sustainable Design, necessary for the acquisition of excellence in professional performance, according to the parameters currently required in the European and global job market.
This professional acquires not only scientific and technical knowledge, but also an awareness of the imperative of sustainability in the contemporary world and the ethical principles that must govern its implementation.
The main objective of the project in the degree in Sustainable Design is the creation of value for companies based on the development of improved and/or innovative products, which generate value equally for consumers and society, preserving the environment and guaranteeing, in this way, the present and future quality of life of communities.
The vision of Sustainability, which is conveyed throughout the course, is anchored in the principle of inclusivity, not only because a sustainable society is necessarily inclusive, but because the growing diversity prevailing in today's societies (multicultural, integrating all citizens irrespective of their physical, mental or social conditions) implies that products and services satisfy a wide range of consumers, contributing to their quality of life and to the good market performance of companies.
The current competitive conditions lead to the increase in the demands of the job market, which requires the availability of Design specialists who master the requirements of sustainable and inclusive design.
With this objective, the student of the degree in Sustainable Design will be permanently connected to industrial, manual and digital manufacturing processes, in order to acquire skills and abilities that allow him to quickly adapt to the needs of industries, facilitating the development of the project in accordance with customers' requirements.

Career Opportunities
The degree in Sustainable Product Design allows the graduate licensee to respond to the current requirements of the International Industry, and the areas of equipment, industrial and product are duly covered. In addition to the basic principles of Sustainability being present, from the beginning to the end of the course, the area of inclusivity is also duly addressed, allowing the project to be directed towards human diversity, with the concern of including them in the society in which they live.
The Degree in Interiors and Sustainable Environments allows the graduate to respond to current market requests with concerns about the sustainability of projects and the ability to evaluate and solve problems related to inclusivity.
The notion of the space in which the human being inhabits, the need to make it sustainable and adapted to human diversity, whether in the urban or interior furniture project, passing through the adjacent landscape or where he lives, is not only present during the course, how it is conveyed in such a way that the inclusiveness factor is never overlooked.
Graduate Profile
The graduate in Sustainable Design acquires skills to:
Lead or execute Design projects and consultancy, regardless of the area of activity and the place of implementation of the project.
Develop industrial activity, not being restricted to semi-industrial, industrial or industry 4.0 craft areas, nor to the type of materials with which you will work.
Dialogue with other areas of knowledge such as Engineering in general, Architecture or Marketing, and their training is transversal to different areas of activity.
Coordinate projects that include the “Sustainability” or “Inclusivity” factor.
