General Objectives
1. To provide scientific, methodological, theoretical and relational competences essential to the various fields of intervention by Social Workers in today's societies, with a view to the development of
approaches focused on individuals, families and communities;
2. To provide suitable preparation for working in public and private social services and charities;
3. To enable the development of skills to use research methods and scientific analysis of professional practice in social services;
4. To promote the acquisition of skills and abilities necessary for active participation in social intervention, discussion and (re)definition of public policies, innovation in social services and implementation of
empowerment and governance strategies;
5. To promote the development of new teamwork skills, project work, reflective intervention, networking, integrated governance and technical supervision.

Career Opportunities
The master's degree provides adequate preparation for admission and exercise of functions in public and private social services and charities. It promotes the acquisition of skills and abilities necessary for an active participation in social intervention, in the innovation of social services and in governance.
The master's degree also allows the development of new competences for other functions, particularly those related to joining teams responsible for social intervention and research projects/programmes, ethnographic analysis of professional practices and technical supervision in the field of Social Work.

Admission Requirements
- Holders of a foreign higher academic degree recognised as meeting the objectives of the bachelors degree;
- Holders of a bachelors degree or legal equivalent in the areas of Social Service, Social Sciences or related;
- Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, resulting from a 1st cycle of studies organised according to the principles of the Bologna Process, in the areas of Social Service, Social Sciences or related;
- Holders of academic, scientific or professional curriculum recognised as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle.
