General Objectives
The PhD Programme in Science, Technology and Management of the Sea (PD_Do*Mar) was created within the scope of the Campus do Mar project, as a result of the aspirations of three Galician universities (Vigo, Santiago de Compostela and Coruña), three northern Portuguese universities (Aveiro, Minho and Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro), the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO) and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), to create an International Post-Graduate School of Excellence that offers doctoral programmes with a global vision and multi-year planning.
This international, cross-border programme aims to attract students of different nationalities who consider this consortium created around the Campus do Mar as a preferred target for their masters or doctoral training.
The mission is to train the best professionals in the field of Science, Technology and Management of the Sea in its different economic and social applications, to generate high quality research with international impact and to provide the industry with the best tools for its global competitiveness.

Duration
This doctoral programme lasts for 3 years and encourages mobility between the institutions that make up the consortium, as well as among other associated institutions. Candidates who successfully complete their PhD will receive a joint degree issued by all the universities in the consortium.
