General Objectives
A degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures aims to:
1. Ensure the university education in languages, literatures and cultures.
2. Develop and strengthen specific skills, focusing on the broad scope of humanistic culture, emphasizing the interdisciplinary intersection and fostering intercultural dialogue.
3. Provide the graduates with key tools of reflection and analysis to enable them, in the particular area of their field of study, to research and select information in a journey aimed to achieve autonomous learning.
4. Provide for further education at the level of postgraduate training, according to the different fields of research and specialization.
5. With the exception of the specificity of each route, think of employability and participation in the job market for future graduates.

This course promotes integration in the labor market in activities related to culture, international cooperation and foreign languages.
It also provides basic skills to access second cycles (Master degrees) studies, both in terms of teaching courses and in terms of other broad areas of languages, literatures and cultures.
More specifically, the degree in Languages , Literatures and Cultures gives access to the following second cycle courses (Master) at UTAD: Communication Sciences, Culture Sciences, Educational Sciences, Teaching English in the 1st cycle of primary school education.
The degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures opens up professional prospects not only in the area of scientific research, but also in the fields of culture, communication, international relations, tourism, text editing, human resources and cultural activities.
