General Objectives
The fundamental objective of the 1st Cycle Degree Programme in Engineering Physics is to qualify professionals in various fields of Physics, preparing them to be active elements in scientific innovation in these fields and, simultaneously, equipping them with the technological tools needed to apply the knowledge acquired to the various fields of society, developing technologically innovative solutions to the challenges that society faces. Additionally, it is intended that they acquire complementary knowledge in the area of Mathematics, in the area of Chemistry, namely Materials, as well as in the area of Engineering, namely Programming and Electronics, which will guarantee these professionals the necessary preparation to follow and apply the scientific and technological advances that will occur along their professional paths.

Career Opportunities
The main career prospects are as senior technicians in the field of Engineering Physics and related fields. Bachelor in Engineering Physics are prepared to perform functions in the area of technology using basic instrumentation, development or use of simple software, or perform non-specialized scientific and technical functions in sectors such as Industry, Environment, Services, Research and Regulation.
After graduating, they can also continue their studies in master programs in Physics, Engineering and Management, opening horizons in professional areas such as advanced scientific research in Fundamental and Applied Physics, management and planning in companies and/or human resources, engineering, consulting and analysis, software development, commercial management, or even areas as diverse as marketing and advertising, financial analysis or forensic investigation where many Masters in Engineering Physics are already to be found.
Graduate Profile
Solid knowledge in Physics, particularly modern Physics, and knowledge obtained from engineering and management disciplines. Added to this knowledge is the ability to apply it in practice, the capacity to learn and innovate, and the capacity for analysis and synthesis. These competences are considered relevant by employers and are associated with Engineering Physics, in accordance with European studies in the area.
