José Baptista graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Trás-os- Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal, in 1991. He obtained the M.Sc. degree in power electronics in 1997 from UTAD and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2007 from UTAD. Presently he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, UTAD. He is also a researcher at INESC- TEC in the fields of power quality, electrical machines and renewables. Currently he is director of the Bachelor and Master in Renewable Energy Engineering, and is also Vice-Director of the PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
