Maria da Conceição Alves Rainho Soares Pereira, born in 1960, is Associate Professor at the UTAD School of Health (ESS). She has a Nursing degree from ESECP (1994), a Master in Public Health from the University of Porto (1999) and a PhD in Nursing Sciences from the University of Porto (2014). Professor since 1988, she is head of several curricular units in the Health Sciences scientific area, namely Community Nursing II, Adult and Elderly Nursing I, Fundamentals of Human Body Systems I, Option III – Occupational Health and Risk Management, Family Transitions. She has been part of   research teams in various R&D projects, financed by FCT, within the scope of the NORTE2020 program. She has held several institutional management roles, namely: President of the ESS Technical and Scientific Council; Member of the Academic Council and the Doctoral College since 2017; Director of the Master in Community Nursing since 2018; Director of the Master in Family Health Nursing (2014-2018); Director of the Nursing Degree (2011-2014); Director of the Department of Mental and Community Health of ESEnfVR-UTAD (2011-2016); Vice-President of the council of ESEnfVR-UTAD (2013-2017). Non-integrated member of the Center for Research in Sports, Health and Human Development.
