Cristina Maria Teixeira Saraiva, born in 1969, is Assistant Professor at UTAD. She has a degree in Veterinary Medicine (1994) and a PhD in Veterinary Sciences (2008) by UTAD. Professor since 1995, she is head of curricular units in the Veterinary Sciences area, in the subarea of Food Safety and Quality. She has held several positions, namely Director of the Integrated Master in Veterinary Medicine (MIMV) (2013-2017), Deputy Director of the Department of Veterinary Sciences (2013-2017), Director of the Department of Veterinary Sciences (2017-2021), Co-Director of Laboratory of Technology and Food Safety and Quality (TeQSA) at UTAD (2015-2017), Member of the Pedagogical Council of ECAV-UTAD (2013-2017), Member of the MIMV Biosafety Board (NB-MIMV) of UTAD (2015-2017). Integrated member of the Animal and Veterinary Science Research Center (CECAV). Advisor of several Master’s Dissertations and Doctoral Theses in Veterinary Sciences. Author of several articles in indexed journals, book chapters and communications at scientific and technical meetings. She led the restructuring processes of the curricular plan of MIMV (2015) and the MIMV evaluation by the national (A3ES) and European (EAEVE) (2016) agencies. She is an EAEVE expert in the field of Food Safety and Quality (2017-). Resident member of the European College of Veterinary Public Health (ECVPH) (2018-).
