“UTAD – Skills for Life” is a joint effort to promote the upskilling and reskilling of the active population, in particular higher education in the field of STEAM, reinforcing the need for continuous learning throughout life, and thus contributing to overcome the growing complexity of the challenges faced by professionals, public administration and different companies.
It was defined in order to leverage the individual contribution of each partner to reinforce, both the fulfillment of the proposed objectives and targets, and to ensure a significant contribution within the scope of the commitments of the Strategy for Equality and Non-Discrimination 2018-2030 and the National Plan against Racism and Discrimination 2021-2025.
There is, therefore, a great concern to encourage the entry into higher education of young people and adults from disadvantaged territories, as well as females in the STEM areas, thus combating the present trend in the participation rates of girls and women in the field of ICT.
The project is based on implementing two major programs or alliances: “STEAM UTAD” and “ALV UTAD”, responding to the new needs of the labor market and the new challenges present in the region and the country itself.
