UTAD prides itself on being an “open-door” university. It recognises a strategic importance, therefore, in communication, not only as vehicle for reaching out to the community, but also as an instrument of consolidation of its own knowledge.

Communications are addressed to the academic community as well as to the general public, using various communication tools such as virtual agenda, newsletter, magazine, UTAD-TV and the University-FM radio.

Three Portuguese television channels, Porto Canal, SIC and TVI, are represented on the UTAD campus, and agreement has been reached for RTP to join them in the future.
